Have fun with system Vol. 5 “Enjoy readjusting.”
DOOA’s system aquariums allow us to effortlessly enjoy creating layouts and growing plants. Shibata, one of the best maintenance technicians in the NAC department, introduces the daily maintenance and practice. I’m doing the maintenance today too!, says Shibata.
Attention to detail for perfection.
Photographing planted terrestrial plants and aquatic plants when they are at their best and thriving is one of the pleasures of creating a layout. To ensure that the plants are in a more beautiful state for the photo shoot, we will improve the condition of the plants and adjust details to enhance the level of perfection. Old and dead leaves should be removed, leaving clean leaves with mainly new buds, and to promote healthy leaf growth. In addition, by regularly maintaining the filtration sponges as well as water changes to help the filter bacteria work effectively, we can constantly supply water of stable quality to the roots of the plants, which also helps to control algae. We should improve not only the plants but also every detail of the entire system to ensure that the system is in good condition for the photo shoot.

Point 01 Fixing damaged plants
Old leaves of the moss were cut frequently to prevent the damage from spreading to other parts of the moss. Healthy moss was inserted over the top to fix the damage.

Point 02 Maintain stable filtration
Maintenance of the filtration sponge keeps the environment in the filtration tank favorable and inhibits algae formation.
SHIBA’s perspectives
Additional Bolbitis heudelotii was planted to make the layout more three-dimensional.
