Have fun with system Vol. 10 “Enjoying Nurturing”

DOOA’s system aquariums allow us to effortlessly enjoy creating layouts and growing plants. Shibata, one of the best maintenance technicians in the NAC department, introduces the daily maintenance and practice. I’m doing maintenance today too!, says Shibata.
Healthy plant growth with Wabi-Kusa Mist
Since the System Paluda 30 layout is composed of terrestrial plants, Wabi-Kusa Mist is mainly used as liquid fertilizer. Spraying Wabi-Kusa Mist over the entire leaf surface replenishes moisture and promotes active transpiration. When transpiration is promoted by adequate amount of moisture, the efficiency of carbon dioxide uptake also increases, and stable photosynthesis is achieved. Use Wabi-Kusa Mist effectively by grasping the humidity level in the glass case, and provide moisture and nutrients to plants to keep them healthy. Another important point is that the fragrance component of Wabi-Kusa Mist is expected to repel pests.
Point 01 Nourishing the leaves
“Wabi-Kusa Mist” provides plants with nutrients and moisture. When spraying daily, the health of plants can be observed at the same time and the amount of spray should be adjusted appropriately.
Spray not only on the surface of the leaf but also on the porous underside.

Point 02 Processing of flower buds
For the jewel orchid, its foliage is known to be more ornamental than for its flowers, but it will eventually produce flower buds.
If you want to enjoy it until flowering, leave it as it is; otherwise, cut it early.

Point 03 Trimming overgrown plants in moderation.
As with aquatic plant growth, it is important to adjust the amount and shape of overgrown plants by trimming them so that they do not ruin the aquascape as a layout.
Active cutting of fast-growing ivy is recommended to prevent it from swallowing other plants.
Mosses are picked and added to the plant without wasting them. It is beautifully maintained.
